How many books have you written?
28! I’ve written a few that aren’t yet published, but over the past decade, I have written over 2 million words! But you don’t have to do that. While you’re learning, you can just take it one word at a time! And don’t forget to ask for help :)
Where did you go to school?
I grew up in Northern California, and I went to school in a town called Walnut Creek. Then, when I was a young adult, I went to the Rochester Institute of Technology up in Rochester, NY. That snow was cold!
Is your job fun?
Absolutely! I love creating new characters and worlds, especially books for kids with talking creatures and brave main characters!
Why do you write in all capital letters?
Because I have terrible handwriting!
How old are you?
I just passed the big five-o (50)!
Where do you live?
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area in a little town up north. It’s full of fun farmers’ markets and coffee shops… perfect for me to jot down ideas and plan my next book!
Are you rich?
Haha, not really, but I do have a very rich imagination, and I consider myself to be very lucky that I started writing… I don’t need a mansion to do it!
Why did you start writing?
I used to work at a company that created special effects for movies. One year, my husband and I took some time off, and we decided to create our own video game! We needed to create a story about the characters in the game. I offered to write it, but soon I realized that I was really writing a book! The video game idea didn’t last, but that book became Aster Wood and the Lost Maps of Almara!
